Coolest mom of the day award

That's right, I'm nominating myself for the coolest mom of the day award. We're studying about ancient Egypt in our homeschool right now, and today we learned about the first writing. (It was in Egypt and Sumer, in case you were wondering. Of course, I guess you have to ignore the Bible to really believe that, but ANYWAY!) So as an activity I sent my girls on a treasure hunt and the clues were written in hieroglyphics. They had to translate them to find out where to find the next clue. Then, at the end, they had to write their own name in hieroglyphics to get their treat. They were very excited about it all. At the end, Ariana exclaimed, "This was the best treasure hunt EVER!"
Excuse me while I go pat myself on the back. :-)

HA HA! Go ahead and pat yourself! That's totally cool! We did something like that in my linguistics class at BYU with Mayan hieroglyphics (except without the treasure!) and I LOVED it! I didn't know you were homeschooling! You'll have to tell me all about it!
