One good thing about a dog..

We don't get TV at our house at all, so to watch the First Presidency Christmas Devotional tonight, we all gathered around our computer in the kitchen. I bribed (oops! I mean motivated) our kids with hot chocolate and popcorn to be quiet during the broadcast. During one of the talks, Xander started grabbing popcorn by the handful and throwing it on the ground. The girls quickly learned how fun it is to smash popcorn on a tile floor, and the mess began. I was trying (in vain) to ignore them and listen to the speaker, but finally silenced them all in a very un-Christmas-like manner. I then mentally mourned the time I would have to spend sweeping up the kitchen floor, but continued watching the broadcast.

Now I just walked through that area and it was completely clean. How in the devil...? Oh yeah, I have a dog! Well, chalk that up on my list of things to be grateful for.
This post in no way endorses the ownership of dogs or of encouraging them to eat off the floor. Such habits may be dangerous for the your mental health (in the case of owning a dog) or for the health of your pet. You should always check with your physchologist and veterinarian before engaging in these activities.

thanks for the extra notes. Michelle wants a cat but maybe the versatility of a dog may be just what we need.
