Ariana wanted an astronaut party, so I tried to do some cool stuff. We called it astronaut training and did agility skills (obstacle course) and knowledge testing in science and math. They got a card (pictured above) with a question on it and multiple choice answers. Each answer had a location next to it. If the answer was correct, the next question was found in the location. If not, the card just said "sorry, wrong answer." At the very last correct location, there were a bunch of NASA "badges" for them to wear because now they had passed the test to be an astronaut. I thought it was pretty stinking cool. The kids couldn't have cared less. Next time we're just playing duck, duck, goose. So there.
Cupcakes were the dessert of choice for the birthday girl.
Yay for the gift exchange!
Full-fledged astronauts. For my own future reference, the kids here are (top row L-R) Kyle Bohrer, Gwyn Christensen, Ariana, Marley Christensen, (bottom row L-R) Katarina, Brandon Brooks, and Kiara.
