Don't Turn Around

Trying to do school with my kids this morning and the following happened within the space of just a few minutes.

Aralyn grabbed Xander's homemade dreidel (yes, I know it's not Hanukkah but that's what we're studying anyway) and ripped it apart.  I took that away from her and put it on another counter.  Then I turned back to find:

Aralyn had a marker and was drawing on the window.  I took the marker away, put it away and wiped off the window a little.  Then I turned back to find:

Aralyn had grabbed Katarina's dreidel and ripped it apart.  So I took that away, moved it aside and turned back to find:

Aralyn had stolen someone's piece of bread and was eating it as she sat on the dining room table.  I didn't even bother trying to take it away from her or even to get her off the table.  However, that only bought me about 30 seconds before she was at my feet whining at me, so I held a bowl down to her level and let her stir it for a little while.  I congratulated myself on being such a great mom to let her help, put the bowl on the table and turned back to find:

Aralyn had pulled the whole carton of eggs off the counter.  Luckily there was only one left, so I didn't have much to clean up.  This time I DIDN'T turn around but picked her up, rinsed off her hands, and confined her in her highchair.

Who's ready for naptime?!!
